The Big Mouth Corner: Travelling

I have had a plan to leave my footprints in 58 cities and provinces of Vietnam since I was a student. There are some places left, but I will try to accomplish this plan this year. There were a couple times I ran out of camera battery and had to use the phone to take pictures. It takes time to sync the pictures between phones and computer; and unfortunately, I had lost a lot of images and videos from the phone as I had to upgrade accidentally the phone's iOS. Therefore, it would be better to throw all of them to this corner to recall my nice memory at all landscapes of country where I have been to, and for your reference of future traveling trips if you haven't been there.

With "Lonely Planet" guide book, maps, GPS and other needed stuff, I often take the buses to any tourist destination points or use the motor bike or sport bicycle basing on whether it is a long or short trip, I have to take tours sometimes, however, I don't like traveling through tourist companies with their fixed schedules and visiting places while I need to linger longer in some special points for my photography hobby.

This bike is not mine, I borrowed it from my cousin to take a long motorbike trips around the south of Vietnam in the mid of Aug 2011 as I didn't satisfy with my bus tours before. It was a very old one but still good to ride at 50 km/h.

This is a Sport bicycle made by Shimano, Japan. I use it to go to playing soccer, around my hometown or for traveling. Riding bicycle is not only good for our health but also a friendly environmental action.

Let's start from my little town, Haiphong port city (Hai Phong means "coastal defence" in Vietnamese), another name, the City of Flamboyant, which is also familiar to all Vietnamese people. It is the third largest city in Vietnam and plays an very important role in term of economical, political position. Yet, the city natural resources and visible potential haven't been utilized properly. Governors are making Hai Phong sleepy, and lifestyle here is likely an European one in competition with the noise in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hanoi Capital. Living in Hai Phong is pretty comfortable and interesting as it still remains its own specific culture, especially, the friendliness and strong characteristics of local people that you cannot find nowhere.
